I am planning to go to Norway in early May and am thinking
if it is the right time to go to Svalbard/Longyearbye.... since it is neither winter nor summer... Will it be very windy??

Any suggestions for suitable activities (not too excited), and/or recommended guides will be appreciated.
Thank you for time in advance.

Early May is good for Svalbard. Midnight sun plus enough snow for wintery activities...

I was there in early June last year. Still enough snow to dog sled (awesome), and we also kayaked, went on a boat trip to Barentsburg, climbed Hiortfjellet and Sarkofagen ... and all in 24 hour daylight. Temp hovered around zero the whole time.
Don't recall too much wind.
Totally recommend you go.

I'll be there from May 11th to May 18th. Look out for a middle aged Australian male travelling alone!
What an exciting destination!
