Hello,
has anybody been to Rago national park? Would be great to hear about your experience and ask some questions like how to get there and where to stay. I am planning to combine Rago with Lofoten in late August.
Thanks,
Yury

I have not visited Rago, but some of my friends have, and I used to live not fare from it, so here goes... Rago is on of the smaller national parks in Norway, it was made into a national parks due to the nature (very special, very easily disturbed), and this is why there are no cottages or marked trails in the park. It is thougth going, you will need a tent and of course you have to carry your food. I have no idea if it is possible to get up to Rago without a car, anyone living closer migth know? on www.turistforeningen.no it is suggested that you can walk from Lakshola, follow the track to Storskogdalen to the open cabin Storskoghytta (these are normally very tiny, migth just be room for 2-4 people to bed down, no food but normally a stove) . Back you migth walk to Litlverivatnet before coming back to Lakshola.
Hmmm.... this sounds strange, I SAID there were no cottages (and the web-page agrees with me!), but still the same web-page suggest a cabin...
