Hey guys,
so in a couple of weeks a friend and myself are heading to Bergen from merry old England. We have basic itinerary, with some hikes we'd like to do, however this it's still up in the air.
So if anyone has some personal favourites, the most dramatic, the most awesome (but perhaps not the most dangerous - we're hobby hikers if anything!
Basically, we'd start off in Bergen and head vaugely northward with ten days for travelling and hiking and a odd bit of sightseeing (and relaxing!)
Just wondering if anyone's hiked the Aurlandsdalen route, and your opinions whether it's worth it (maybe it's a little too...pedestrian, or touristy). We haven't much time, but we're hoping to get up to Jotunheimen and walk Besseggen as well after, and the Trollstigen way.
A lot of information about Aurlandsdalen states it would take 3-4 days, it being 40 km, but if anyone is familiar, or has attempted it, would it be possible to complete the route (e.g northbound from Finse to Vassbygdi) in two days, seeing as our time is limited.
We're both young and fairly fit , and could easily manage two full days of hiking (10+ hours) especially as it would be the first of the hikes, but we're aware that Aurlandsdalen may be just a litle too long? Of course we're willing to perhaps start further up the route if the full hike is impossible, but we like to challenge ourselves, so...
Cheers guys, hope someone out there can shed a little light on this :)
