My sister and I are planning on going to Norway in a couple of weeks time. I have been planning and searching extensively and have formulated a plan worked out cost etc. but i still have some gaps and would like you guys to help with ideas alternatives.

Day 1 Arrive in Oslo
Day 2 Oslo and investigate its sights
Day 3 Day trip somewhere near by and finish off Oslo sights
Day 4 Do Norway in a Nutshell tour but on our own as its easy enough (and saves 1000 NOK)
Day 5 Bergen
Day 6 and 7 A fjord trip for two days or Travel to Stavanger
Day 7 Stavanger
Day 8 Pulpitt rock
Day 9 Fly back to Oslo in the evening
Day 10 Home

Just a few questions. On day 4 we wanted to take a boat from Flam to Bergen but have been told that the boat doesn't run until May can anyone suggest another option as to how we can sail as much of the fjord as possible on this day, or is it impossible because there is only one passenger ferry that would ply the route?

If alternative can't be found to day 4, can anyone suggest a two day fjord trip from Bergen?
Is Pulpit rock possible as a day trip from Stavanger?
Lastly a decent day trip from Oslo maybe a walk?

Do you think the itinerary is good or is something wrong/ too rushed/ or we are missing out on?

Many thanks for your time.

Dan

Actually properly the last question are there any free walking tours (routes that we can do ourselves) available online to print off? have so far been unsuccessful in my search for these

Pulpit Rock is certainly possible as a day trip, and most people take it as a day trip. Good luck - it's a steep climb. Maybe this year I'll make it! LOL! (First time, I ran out of time. Was supposed to play music up there for an outdoor sunday service. Second time it was too slippery).
