Hi,
Am in Norway in July, on a very tight budget & schedule.
I have to catch a flight back to Paris at 8 in the morning from Oslo Airport, Gardermoen.
I will be in Balestrand the day before flying. Instead of coming back to Oslo the day before & staying in an Oslo hotel near the airport (which is more expensive than a hotel in the city central), I was thinking of taking the bus from Balestrand (Route 170 - Balestrand to Vadheim/ Route 440 - Vadheim to Stryn rb.st. and Route 145 - Stryn rb.st. to Oslo lufthavn) - I leave Balestrand 17:30hrs and arrive Oslo Airport 06:10hrs to catch the 8 o' clock flight.
Now, a silly question - but I just wanted the opinion of expert travellers - will this be cutting it too tight? How punctual is NOR-WAY Bussekspress AS? Or would you say, I cut corners elsewhere & be at Oslo for the night to catch the early morning flight.

What say?

During night in july there should be few obstacles, but it is thight for international departure.

But why do you go via Stryn? Makes the trip much longer.

I find Nor-Way very punctual, but they can't be held responsible for unexpected events along the route. I have not checked your routing, but if your connections are listed in the timetables the buses will wait for each other if there is a delay. Arriving at 0610 would be fine if the plane departs at 0800 - check with Air France when the check-in closes.

hmmm... this is the busy holiday season... if your departure happens to be on a saturday or sunday there migth be a lot of charter tourists leaving the country, and you migth be cutting it a bit tight, but... I don't know... If it is really important, I think I would get there the nigth before, chech out the guesthouses around the airport, less expencive than the hotels.

You can rely on these express bus timings. 1:50 is enough time to make it, and you will still have a margin.

Have a nice stay in Norway!

Thanks everyone. I think I will avoid all the uncertainty & book myself a hotel near the airport for the night. Why take chances, no?
