Hi all

We are planning to visit Norway at the end of April, and we thought to travel the way between Oslo and Bergen on bicycles.

I am wondering if there would be some way to rent bicycles in Osle and drop them at Bergen?

Or buying them in Oslo and selling back in Bergen? Did anyone try something like that?

I would appreciate any contacts or links that might help us out.

You do realize the roads from Oslo to Bergen will go over the mountains? There's a fairly high probability of snow showers and unbikable conditions in late April, even if the weather in Oslo may be fine. Unless you're used to long distance biking in winter conditions, I would not recommend this.

Absolutely not advisable. Even at the end of April, it might well still be full winter on the Hardanger plateau, and chances are you'll find this journey just about as enjoyable as driving spikes through your fingernails. Take the train instead.

That's two clear votes against. I did not realize the weather was so severe at the end of April. Thanks guys!

Well, you might experience delightful spring weather on the coast and in the lowlands, but in the mountains winter still reigns: I mean, this year's Easter falls on the second-last week of April, and like most people I intend to spend the holidays skiing...
