For Hotels you can directly seach for your dates. For Hostels you get a list of them so you can look at their homepages.
If you hit the business holiday period you should be able to get at double for as little as NOK 800 (even incl. big Scandinavian breakfast buffet at some places).

You could try this link oslo hotels where you see prices and reviews from people that has been there. Here you are able to get a double room from 236 kr or 30$ a night.
Beware of the prices on restaurants in Oslo. Try to buy food in supermarkets instead to save money.
