I'm staying in Asker for a couple of days towards the end of May. Does anyone know any guesthouses or smaller hotels - I've only found one big conference hotel....

Yes there aren't too many hotels in Asker,may be thon hotel is cheapest? i hope you get more helpful information from travelers here.

I do not understand why you cannot find more than a single hotel. The homepage of the official tourist office (logical place to start searching??) has - not many - but several possibilities:

It's close to Oslo on a major railroad, while Drammen, a bigger town, is located nearby in the other direction, and may be an alternative to suburban Asker.
