Hello. We're planning to do the Norway in a Nushell tour next month (March 2013), taking the ferry from Flam to Gudvangen and then catching the bus from Gudvangen to Bergen. Since it will be dark at 7pm in the evening when the bus departs Gudvangen, I was wandering if it is hard to locate the bus stop. Perhaps this is a silly question, but we'll have about an hour and a half wait after the ferry gets to Gudvangen and apparently most of the town is shut down for the winter. If someone is familiar with Gudvangen, can you tell me where we can wait for the bus and how do we know where to wait?

Thanks in advance for your help.

[http://gudvangen.com/] is the website of the Fjordtell where you will be able to get a coffee and I'm sure they will be able to tell you where to get the bus from if it's not right outside.

The town is not shut down over winter either - what do you think people do, hibernate?

Seems to me that the cafeteria mentioned above opens i May. And the restaurant from April - but not until 19:00.
You can ask at: olav@gudvangen.com

Gudvangen is a very tiny place - hardmy a village. Think the bus stop i either at the dock or where the local street meets E16 (the main road).

At least there seems to be a gas station there which certainly has a shop and maybe a simple cafeteria.

Ah - apologies I didn't see that, it's not exactly highlighted on the website!

Definitely very well hidden opening info!

BTW
i May = in May
hardmy = hardly
i either = is either
... seems that I am even worse that usual today

Thank you for your info. My research so far has indicated the place is pretty much closed in March.

Best wishes.
