Hello Icelanders (or do you call yourselves something else?)
I'll be visiting from Aug 22-28 & from Sep 23-27. I'm not a night person, so will probably be out and about during the day (until 6 or 7 pm). Will a heavy sweater under a slicker suffice or will I need to bring a parka?

Hi all,
We will be in mid-August in Iceland with a rented 2WD. We will have three full days (FRI – SUN) to drive from Akureyri back to the airport in Reykjavik. So far, I have come up with this kind of itinerary (see below) but would love to read your thoughts because I am really not sure about it. Note that we will be on the Ring Road for the previous week (driving anti-clockwise).
Plan looks like this:

I will have a one day layover in Iceland. I thought to make the most out of it. I am happy if someone (1-3ppl) would join.

In a nutshell: Camping style rough and quick roadtrip. Keflavik airport- Car rental - Spa - Sleeping in a the back of a skoda octavia (or tent if you have), golden circle locations, go back to the airport.

I made a detailed plan, but somewhat flexible to join - obviously not with the start & end dates.

My husband and I are in the early stages of planning a trip to Iceland in early December. We'd love to go in the summer, but due to some life circumstances, December seems like the most reasonable time for us. Not to mention, the airfare is awfully tempting!

I am going to Iceland August 26th (no return date yet) and I am looking for travel buddies. I want to rent a car and then explore as much as possible. I have nothing set in stone, besides that I really want to see puffins.
I am okay with doing the must-do touristy things but I am looking for more of an off the beaten path experience.

Is it possible to leave a car in Hella near the bus stop while we hike the Laugavegur? The plan was to drive from Reyk to Hella, take a bus to Landmannalauger for the hike, return via bus to Hella from Thorsmork, then continue our drive to Vik (to avoid backtracking to Reyk). The only thing we need to figure out is where to safely leave our vehicle for a few days while on the trail. We would appreciate any suggestions.

My boyfriend and I are travelling to Iceland in August, and we are having trouble finding accomadation near Skaftafell and Jokusarlon lagoon, both places we want to see on our trip. Does anyone have any suggestions for seeing these places, without rushing through? Either reasonably priced multi day tours or some other suggestion of how to do this as a day trip without being too rushed?
