7 days arriving morning March 30th. After spending a day recovering from jet lag at Blue Lagoon, hopping 17:30 Eagleair to Hofn, renting a car (returning Reykjavic April 3rd). We got literally the last 2 tickets for ice caving in 2015 (March 31st; they don't run in April). Other than the Golden Circle, now what?

I'm planning on coming to Iceland for about 10 -14 days in summer 2015 as a solo traveler, and am looking to doing a guided hike of the Laugavegur Trail. There seems to be a wide range in prices through various tour companies, though they seem to be offering the same thing. It's been difficult to find reviews online of these guided treks. I'm thinking about going to Reykjavik in the end of February for 4 days.
Seeing the northern lights is the main goal and doing tours into the nature close to Reykjavik.
What would those 4 days cost me? Accommodation is around 18€ per day in the hostels.
When I want to see the lights are the tours expensive or how can I do it the best?

Like adventure - plan to rent a car - want to keep minimal plans but will book a guide now for something adventurous not to be missed. Is there a good place to rent a bike and spend a day exploring? Best fishing area?
Is there any place i must have lodging BEFORE i arrive due to popularity?
Not too concerned with spending more to keep no plan and to get guides for trips.

I'll be travelling solo in Iceland Feb 24 - March 3, I really want to visit some hot pools off the beaten track, and I'm just wondering about the chances of meeting people with similar plans in places such as hostels? We will be travelling to Iceland from late March to early April. We have a plan during the 2 weeks to go around the ring road. As I am aware F-Roads and will be shut.

Would you suggest to not to hire a car that is allowed access to go on the F-Roads?

We are currently looking into a vehicle for 7 ppl, but it would save us money to not use the F-Roads if there closed.
