I traveled to Iceland ~5 years ago and took a photo of a monument while traveling through the highlands back from akureyri to reykjavik. it was a small-sized cage or "prison" with bars and inside were two stones. i cannot remember the story (this is why i'm writing), but i believe it had something to do with memorializing an outlaw or man who lived in the highlands. does anyone know the name of this sculpture, or how i might find out more about the story?

This is the ,,prisoners of freedom" by Magnus tomasson, and it is in Hveravellir.

It is in memory/honor of Icelands most famous outlaws in the middle ages, Fjalla-Eyvindur Jonsson and Halla Jonsdottir. They where born early 18th century. Eyvindur was an outlaw for 40 years, for little or no crimes at all (petty theft).
He was born in the south, in Hraugerdishreppur, and she in the west in Sugandafjordur. The two heart shaped stones are from these areas, and represent them caged in their freedom.
The monument is located in Hveravellir, which was one of many places where the couple spent winter, and there are ruins from their time in the area.
