Hi All -

I'm going to Reykjavik in early March for 4 days. I'm not planning on renting a car while I'm there so I've been looking into tour companies. Does anyone have tours/ tour company recommendations?

I'm looking to see:

the Golden Circle - by snowmobile, (budget permitting) - has anyone done this?
Northern Lights
Reykjavik
Blue Lagoon

Are there other destinations I should look into?

Thanks in advance!
Morgan

First: The "Golden circle - by snowmobile"... Not doable.
There is a "one hour snowmobile option" possibility during the tour: http://www.mountaineers.is/snowmobile-safari/snowmobile-safari.html
Or: http://www.amazingtours.is/at01.html or: http://www.amazingtours.is/at02.html

The bus companys do not operate the "Snowmobile" tours themselves, they subcontract one of the previous named.

Norther lights tours are offered by: "The king" www.daytour.is www.amazingtours.is www.grayline.is www.re.is all good.

City tour by www.grayline.is or www.re.is or by your self. The same goes for the Blue Lagoon.

How about a "Glacier experience" tour ?? A walk on the glacier, with crampons and ice axes, and a snowmobile ride, all on the same day + all the sights on the south coast ??
I can get you the best prices for such a tour. PM me if interested.

We're thinking of Iceland as an alternative to Norway in February - would you recommend it? Our main aim is to see the Northern Lights, snow mobile, etc - is dog sledding available at all?

Have looked at the sites you mention - thank you - looks like some really interesting things to see!

What about Reykjavik itself? Fun to stay in? Plenty to do?

Thanks

O.T. The Northern Lights won't be at their best in March. They'll still be good - but March can be a little late for the finest showings.
Post #3#.... Reykjavik, a fun place to stay?? Yes. Plenty to do?? Things to do - but not plenty of them. Just lovely people though.
