Living Expenses & Weather from Oct - Dec

Oh yeahhhh...AND! How safe is travelling solo, being a female 19, through Iceland, and also Russia, I understand Russia can be a bit dodgy but I just want some opinions! Thankss!

The problem with any time but the 2-3 summermonths is that most things for tourists outside Reykjavik is closed. The "interior" is physically closed until late June

The currency used in Iceland is ISK - you better figure out the exchange rate. CAD are of no use outside banks and I wonder how you can expect other first to look up the exchange rate and then do the conversions for you.
But costs are simple:: take the costs for a similar trip in Canada and add some 50% and you will be fine.

Finally: Do you REALLY think safety is a problem in Iceland? If so how did you dare travel in India, as you so carefully mention?

PS: and just so I can qualify for your accepance test - I have been there for more than one monht - but I wonder if you are allowed to ask quesrtions here? i.e. Have you done your research?

#2 "that most things for tourists outside Reykjavik is closed" Are you serious? I was there in January and everything i tried to visit was open and running. Including tours. True, interior hiking is a no go, but your statement simply isn't true.

OP, Iceland is a little on the expensive side. Certainly compared to India. It's a country where it's cheaper to fly than it is to take the bus. It's a country where a night out at the bar can cost you $100+.

As for safety, there was a random polar bear in Iceland 2 years ago, but they shot it. So the country is totally safe ;)

Dear bunny - you visit other´things than I. Look at the tour list from major agencies, try to make visit to the glacier lake on boat, old fram museums, some NAtional parks, B&B and some guesthouses .......
