Dude! This is going to be my 33rd birthday present to myself, just got back from Istanbul and 16 days in Turkey this morning, will be in Berlin/Budapest/Vienna next month and now have Montenegro in my sights. I'm so stoked. Am going to start reading this thread more in the next couple of months.

Should I try and fly back from Dubrovnik or Sarajevo or Split or Bari when I have 8 days and I want to concentrate on Dubrovnik and Montenegro but am open to other things, like 3 places in 8 days. Any…

Hi everybody,
we are going to Turkey at the begining of April and will enter Istanbul by train . Can we get information about domestic flights somewhere at the train station and arrange our flights to Cappadocia or Izmir?
Thanks a lot

My husband-to-be and I are moving to Nitra, Slovakia and have never been before. Wondering if anyone who has visited (or currently lives there) could describe it, give me any tips, send photos... anything really. All information is helpful.

Hi,

I am going to Istanbul in a few months for a university project about religious sites. I'm looking for more people (preferably Turkish) to interview and hear their thoughts on that subject. If you live in Istanbul and would like to help me out, please mark your interest below or by private message. Mark the private message title with "Interview". If you participate you can choose to be anonymous or use a pseudonym.

Thanks!

I'm planning to fly into Dubrovnik and work my way up the coast to Slovenia, then fly out either Ljubljana or Zagreb. I'll also be making a stop in Mostar, Bosnia, so need to make sure there are no restrictions.

Any suggestions on getting the best deal on a car rental? I've checked major companies like Budget, Auto Europe, etc. but am wondering if there are any other lesser known ones that might be cheaper.

thanks!

Are clothes cheaper in Bratislava than in, say, France or Austria? Do they have much the same shops (ProMod, Zara, etc.)? I'm planning to be there briefly in April and am wondering if I should hold off on my spring wardrobe until then.

Thanks!

Hi all

I've never been to anywhere in the region of Baku or Azerhaijan and thought it was about time I did. I've not had a look at any guide books or anything yet but just sort of wondering what it is actually like there.
I'm not new to the budget backpacking method of travel and this is how I would spend my week in Azbjn so can anyone give me a brief idea of what its like. I'd like to get a feel for the country and see some places on the Caspian sea.
Is it safe, what are the costs like, beer…

My film "What the Sultan Saw” highlights the history of Turkey and Istanbul, featuring the Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires. This tour of western and central Turkey stars Cappadocia (land of fairy chimneys), Ephesus (& other Roman cities), the Turkish Riviera, plus shopping for the magic flying carpet.
