In Turkey during May'19.
I like my travel to be a mix of things, and for Turkey, had architecture, history, nature, hikes and beaches in mind. I drink and okay with most kinds of food

Have a few questions,

  2. Good walking tours in Istanbul, Selcuk, Antalya, Goreme
  3. Budget places to eat in Istanbul, Selcuk, Antalya, Goreme
  4. Also thinking of hiking around the Lycian way. Looking at day hikes and staying in hostels for the…

As I understand it there are two treks going on from Ushguli out of Svaneti, one via the Latpari Pass (ending in Chvelpi) and the other via the Zagar Pass road, ending in Mele. I can't seem to find a map showing how Chvelpi and Mele are linked- are they both on the same road? Is it possible to loop back up to Ushguli? I'd be there 2nd week in June (I know I'd have to keep an eye on the weather!).
Also, has anyone experience of renting a 4WD + driver in Ushguli (not Mestia) to drive this trip…

I just noticed the price for all visas is $160 now. I just got my voucher that states single entry...can I still apply for the 3 year visa if I specify this on the application itself? Or do I need to buy another voucher which states double entry?

Hi,

Some years ago, I spent two week on the romanian side of the Danube Delta. Was a great experience. So, I'm wondering about to put the Ukrainian side of the delta in my packed out agenda for the first half of October. Usually, these dates aren't the best for birding. Too late for summer visitors and too soon for winterings. In every case, I'll carry binoculars. Any suggestion for short excursions of birding interest. The first priorities in Ukraine will be Kiev, Chornobyl, Lvov, Odessa...

Hi,

At the end of June, I'll have some free time in Moscow. It isn't my first, neither second, visit there. So, the main places of historical or artistic interest have seen yet. Not all, for example It's going to be my first trip to the really serious monastery in Sergiyev Posad. I'm very fond of science and engineering. So, I'd appreciate suggestions about these topics in, or close to, Moscow.

When I tried to buy a train ticket from Budapest to Eger I was told that because of delays due to work repairs on the tracks, it would be wiser to take the bus. I bought a bus ticket but curiously neither the Lonely Planet nor Rick Steve’s guide books indicate a bus station or a location where the bus drops arrivals.
Can I assume I will be dropped in the town of Eger and nowhere inconvenient?
It would seem logical.

Hi everyone,
I would like to spend some days in Tabatskuri village, but I don't find any information about how to get from Bakuriani to there (despite some travel tours going by "snowmobile").
Do someone know if there are some jeeps ? Or any other way to go ? If nothing else than snowmobile, I could wait some weeks, some months.
Thanks a lot :)
Aurélien

Hi I have been asked to pay a 30% deposit to an accommodation provider as a bank transfer directly into his bank account rather than going through bookin.com website. I made the booking with my credit card details as deposit. It has a free cancellation policy and I have never been asked to do this before. My gut tells me no but I would welcome any feedback....

Hi all,

I've got a question about climbing mount Triglav all the way to the summit. I have experience in hiking long distances and up to 5.5 km height, but I have no prior experience with via ferrata. Is it doable to climb mount Triglav without any via ferrata experience or is this unadvised?

Regards,

Mark
