Towns and cities nearby Kiev - help needed please

Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can help please? My boss is going to the Euro 2012 tournament, one of the matches at the end of June in Kiev. I havent been able to get him a room at any of the central Kiev 5 or 4 star hotels.

I have come to the conclusion that the only solution might be to go out of kiev. Can anyone please reccommend any towns or cities within a 2-3 hours drive? Id be looking for somewhere hopefully quite cosmopolitan with luxury 4/5 star hotels.

Alternatively if anyone knows of any good quality hotels or apartments that still have availability for last weekend in June that would be great too.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

If he wants a 4 or 5 star hotel he can probably forget it. Don't think there are any within a few hours drive. You might try to find a serviced appartment in Kiev, but my guess is that they all will be fully booked as well.

Absolutely. There are only 3 cities nearby Kiev - Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy, but there is no luxury hotels there. Renting an apartment is the only choice in my opinion.

My guess is you will have to use a local agency and compromise on the 4*.

I stayed at the 3* hotel Vizit in Kozyn, south of Kiev. Its near some pleasant lakes where you can swim, and next to the river. No idea about availability in June. http://www.travel-to-ukraine.info/en-hall/gostinichnij-kompleks-vizit.html

In Brovary (town in 0,5 hour drive from Kiev - metro LISOVA) is situated big Entertainment Complex - with Hotel (1 night - near 1000 UAH (100 Euro), Aquapark, shopping mall, carting and else.
Cheap hotels and appartments you can find in Vyshgorod (20 min from metro GEROIV DNIPRA), BILA TSERKVA ( Big Park in this town - MUST SEE), Irpin (Hotel Admiral - not cheap).
