I know Visa questions get thrashed about here alot, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for:

* Has an AUSTRALIAN passport holder recently succeeded in obtaining their Moldova Visa in Ukraine?
* If so, was the process smooth, or was the consulate hard to deal with
* And where did you get your Invitation/Tourist Voucher from

I'm planning to cross from Ukraine to Moldova at approx March 2010.

Any info would be great.

I tried to get a Mongolian and Chinese visa in Kiev (whole different kettle of fish I know). I failed.

No English was spoken at the Chinese embassy, and we would have been expected to pay full-whack for a translator.

The Mongolian embassy address was incorrect and no-one (including locals, travel agents TI or taxi drivers) could locate it.

I think it is very difficult to procure visas in Kiev.

I know its a long train journey away, but I think you will have a lot better time getting a visa in Budapest.
