Hi,

Is it easy to get around Ukraine without knowledge of Russian and basic knowledge of cyrillic?

Thanks,
Alan

No, that's not easy. Learning the cyrillic alphabet (which is easy to learn) would start to make things a lot easier, after which you can memorize a couple of sentences and words which you will use a lot.

Good luck,
Matthijs

Indeed. You will find few people speaking foreign languages even in big cities, needless to say about small towns.

Well, you guys are making me think if I shall choose somewhere to go to.

Buy a phrasebook, learn a few basic sentences, use body language and you'll be fine!
