Hello,
I applied for the Turkey student visa on 1st August and was told that the processing time is usually 15-20 days. I had all the documentation done perfectly. I submitted my docs in Karachi consulate and then they were sent to the Turkish Embassy located in Islamabad and then returned back to Karachi consulate after 3 weeks. After that I had I interview on 23rd Aug and I was told that from this point, it takes around 3-4 more days to process the visa. Today its 8 Sep and i am really worried…

I'm looking for someone coming from the US to Istanbul around the 18-25th of October. I am looking to get a small package filled with clothes brought to me - since I will be coming from Africa directly to Istanbul and I heard the postal system is very unreliable there, this would help me immensely. Nothing sketchy about the small package, would be light and feel free to go through it to make sure its ok :)

I do have a short question. I will be travelling Iran and Kurdistan in Oktober and November, then trying to get to Turkey overland.

I am aware of the situation in Eastern Turkey. That´s why I unfortunately won't visit that part of Kurdistan. Yet, I'd like to experience the landscape of Turkey and end my Trip in Izmir and Istanbul. I do know it's FAR. I'm aware of this probably taking like 35 hours of what not. Yet I would like to do this, as flights back to Europe from Erbil…

I am planning a short trip to Northeastern Turkey at the end of October. I have in mind 2 possible itineraries.

Itinerary 1#:
- Fri 28: early morning flight from Istanbul to Erzurum. Visit the city and overnight here.
- Sat 29: early bus to Kars (around 5 or 6 am, according to websites), visit Ani and overnight in Kars.
- Sun 30: Bus to Igdir – Dogubeyazit. Visit Ishak Pasa palace and overnight in Dogubeyazit.
- Mon 31: Early bus to Van (around 6:30 – 7 am, I suppose) and visit Akdamar island…

Is it possible to buy a single museum pass for the Hagia Sophia on line. I have been trying and can only find
the one for 85tl. I live in the U.S.

Well, what can I say?! Istanbul must be the most beautiful city in the world. I returned to London last night. I had such a lovely three days in Istanbul, chatting with people, eating as much as I could (but still not enough!), and balancing early morning museum visits with afternoon waterfronts and shopping. I am Interested in possible taking the Train from Istanbul to Berlin. Probally about a month. I could stop in Budapest, Prague, on to Berlin. I could take the train from Berlin onto Warsaw. Has anyone taken this train trip?
