Help with Turkey Itinerary

I’m excited to visit Turkey, especially Istanbul. There’s so much to see and planning it is daunting. I’ve done considerable world travel and am usually up to the hours of planning required. This time, though, I think I need some help. Maybe it’s that I’m in my mid-sixties.

I plan to travel to Cirali\Olympos with my 5 year old son for 2 weeks in September (05.09-20-09, maybe a bit later) and i will be very thankful for any tips or information on how to find a budget guesthouse, appartment or a bungallow. 50 USD or less per day - is it a real price?
if someone with a kid or two feels like sharing accomodation to provide a playmate for his or her youngster, that will be great!

I'm looking at visiting Turkey next year, around June. As i have never been there, i was hoping for general advice from those who have been (i.e. visa requirements, getting around, money exchange, foods to try, attractions that is worth visiting, and not just hype etc.).

My wife and I are 65 and will be cycling from Izmir to Trabzon in September and early October.
We have questions regarding appropriate clothing when not cycling in typically non tourist areas. We are limited to the amount of clothing we can carry, so we have to limit our clothing options.
+ Are capris length pants OK, even if they show some ankle for her?

+ Are knee length shorts OK for men and/or women?
+ Are short sleeve shirts OK for men and/or women?

We will be flying from Izmir to Istanbul on an 11:20 flight and will be departing from Selcuk on the train to the airport. Would the 9am train, arriving at the airport at 9:59 be an option with regard to having time to check in, etc. There is also a train at 7:22, arriving at 8:16 - would that be a better option? We have opted for the train as we would like to experience that aspect of Turkish life.

I have noticed a previous poster has queried safety of driving in Kars area. We also are planning to drive in this area in early september and have already arranged for the hire car. First from Erzurum to Yusefeli/Barhal and the on to Kars/Ani and back to Erzurum. I realise nobody can guarantee anything and it is our decision at the end of the day but do people think it would be wise to just stick to main roads or should we alter our plans and miss out KarsAni altogether? Has anyone recently driven the road from Kars to Van? And if so, what were your experiences regarding the affect the PKK is having on that stretch of road? Did you have any problems? Many thanks in advance for your experience.

Even though I haven't made my final decision yet, but I would like everyone to comment on my planned itinerary to see if it's realistic. Hi. Myself and my wife are looking to visit Turkey sometime in October or November. Our ideal dates would be from October 22nd to November 6th. Generally, I want to ask about night clubs in Istanbul. I searched for previous questions but I still wanna ask mine.
I'm planning to go to Istanbul in the end of august for a week, and I wanna go to a one or two night clubs during the trip. So I want to know which clubs are suitable for me. I want names.
