Hi my girlfriend and i are looking for somewhere to stay near Bodrum in August as we will be visiting a friend working there. I hear Bodrum is quite tacky so we were thinking of a nearby town/ village where we could go to the beach and there are a couple of bars / restaurants maybe can anyone recommend a place like this. I was thinking of a village called Gümüslük but that is probably above our budget. Thanks very much for any help on this

I'm planning to spend 2 half days and one full day in the Mardin area in Oct.
I wonder if I would have enough time to see Mardin, Hassenkeyf and Midyat in this timeframe.
How much time should I spend on each of these 3 places? What sights should I focus on?
Should I leave out Midyat?

I'll be arriving Mardin around 2:00pm, have the rest of the day, the next full day and flying out from Mardin airport at 3:15pm on the third day.

I don't usually post here, but if you're heading to Goreme, check out Kismet Cave Hotel, run buy a guy named Faruk. Of all the places I've been in Europe and Asia, he was the most friendly and helpful, never pushy, and went out of the way to make sure we had a good time. Most of the place is town are good and cheap, but Faruk was the best. It's a a three minute walk from the bus station so quiet but still close to the center of town. They have a website so check it out for yourself: www.kismetca

HI Guys,

I'm going to be in Bodrum for three days in a few weeks and I'd like to look into half day/full day boat trips. I know Kos is only a 20 minute ferry away (saw it in another post) but I'm not sure if there are any other options (other islands, mini cruise around the coastline?). Any recomendations would be much appreciated,

Thanks :)

We are looking at booking flights from Kayseri to Istanbul. I seem to remember reading somewhere that you can't or shouldn't book these flights from overseas (as opposed to when we are actually in Turkey). The websites for Onur Air, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus all look fine to me, but before I book, is there anything I should know?

Does it make any difference if I book and pay up front, and get an electronic ticket, or take their option of reserving and then collecting the ticket at the…

I will be travelling to Istanbul, Ephesus, maybe Bursa in September.
I will begin learning a few words and phrases in Turkish, but will I be able to get by on English? I'm not very quick picking up languages.
Thanks in advance!

i'm looking for a good, not totally touristy if possible, hotel in Antalya - have been reading Lonely Planet & searching the web - mixed info about one hotel in particular is making me crazy - the hotel in question is Alp Pasa, said to be fabulous by some, terrible by others - any experiences to report, or alternatives to suggest - I'm willing to spend $150 or so for a double, so it doesn't have to be "cheap", whatever that means these days!!!

First of all, only 3% of turkey is located in Europe, I honestly can't believe the turks have fooled themselves and others that they are european!! LOL..Turkey is as middle east as middle east gets. ..and I am a middle eastern iranian guy who has lived in the united states since 8th grade.

I have visited turkey several times for long periods of time over the last few years since I am a penny stock trader and can trade stocks from any computer or internet cafe...

As far as cheap hotels, the 2003…
