My Parents are in their 60s and would like to go to Turkey to one off the all inclusive resorts for about 4-5
Does any one have any suggestions on where they can go. They can be quite picky qhen ut comes to foo so this needs to be top notch!

I have heard places like Marmaris, gumet etc are for younger people and those that want to party so they would not be ideal

Thanks

Holiday resorts here tend to have wide mix of ages and certainly Marmaris and Gumbet have a lot for yonger people but they also attract mature tourists too.
For example in pretty Torba on the Bodrum peninsula there are hotels such as Hilton Princess and Voyage Torba which are excellent but in quiet villages away from the noisy nightlife, yet they can go into Bodrum centre daytime for sightseeing by local bus in 25 minutes. And this is a very short airport transfer at 15-20 minutes.

On the other hand in Antalya around Belek there are some superb A.I. hotels such as Sueno Deluxe,Kaya Palazzo,Cornelia,Max Royale,Cornelia and Regnum. These are all 5*,not cheap but they are ultra A.I. so I guess you do get what you pay for.

In all sincerity, choosing the resort itself is much more important than the town where it's located.

I've met enough British tourists who are finicky eaters while on holiday to know that most all-inclusive places will NOT be suitable. The all-inclusive holiday model has, unfortunately, found a race to the bottom for many of the hotels and the first places they cut are food and drink. I suspect that you should mainly confine your search to resorts that say "ultra all-inclusive" or similar.

I suggest Trip Adviser as a FAR better place to research individual resorts than the literature provided by holiday tour companies. One of the dirty little secrets of the package holiday business is that the tour companies essentially rent a block of rooms at some hotels for the season paying one flat price (not per person, nor per room, not per night--per the entire group of rooms for the entire season). These are their "preferred" hotels and they will do anything and everything to sell them to include significant misrepresentation of the quality.

The towns and hotels Sarikinarya specifically mentioned (Torba on the Bodrum Peninsula and Belek near Antalya) are all very nice places. Torba is a decent sized town that attracts a genteel class of guests. Golfing is big and much is done to ensure that there are "suitable" things for families. The main streets are paved in marble with granite footpaths and transparent illuminated crosswalks. High-end shops abound. Torba is a quiet and rather isolated little village with a few few large resorts.

Kuşadası is..okay but the decent A.I. hotels tend to be all rather far from the town centre but the closest in and probably one of the better A.I. hotels there is Korumar Hotel.
Another one that comes to mind is Paloma Özdere which is sort of half way between Kuşadası and Izmir. This is a lovely hotel and Özdere is a nice little village with some history to it and your parents can also visit Ephesus from there with ease.
Antalya's Lara Beach area also has many luxury A.I hotels but when you step out of your hotel all you see is...more hotels just like yours;nothing to see or do there unless you go into Antalya city centre.
Are your parents likely to want to go out and about during their stay or will they spend most of their time in the hotel complex? If the latter then they'd be okay at Lara Beach but if they want to see a bit of Turkey then my vote would be Torba or Özdere where they'll have places to stroll to close by.
One other point;when do they want to come?High summer around Antalya is extremely hot(and for Antalya, humid too) as is the Bodrum area. The Izmir is slightly further north and so is a little cooler plus there is always a lovely breeze coming off the Aegean Sea to take the edge off it too.

I think Mike meant Belek is a decent sized town;Torba is a village.Torba is more or less linked to the next village along;Türkbükü which is where a great number of Turkey's rich and jet set take their summer holidays ,so they'd be in good, rarified company there :)

Yes, I meant "Belek" when describing the good-sized upscale holiday town near Antalya.
