Hello!

Could you please help me with the following points:
1: How about visiting Turkey in mid December.
2: Will all the tourist spots open for visitors.
3: Will the rain make it difficult for me to move on streets.
4: Is it too much difference visiting Turkey in December & Springs.

Your reply would be really appreciated.

1: It depends where you will be visiting, but the weather will most probably be freezing, rainy or snowy. Southern coasts will be windy too.
2: Yes, all the tourist spots are open all the year round.
3: Speaking about Istanbul, if the weather is not windy together with raining, an umbrella or raincoat will just go perfect. But the wind makes it really disturbing and hard to go for a stroll in the streets.
4: Yes, it will make a huge difference. Spring is the best and lovely season in Turkey, especially for Istanbul. I personally suggest to plan a visit between March-June or September-November.

December is probably the consistently coldest month of the year, often colder than January and February but it tends to be rain rather than snow and ice-unless you are planning to go to the mountainous part of eastern Turkey where they have some snow already!
Where are you thinking of visiting?Probably Istanbul for certain but where else? The weather varies greatly from area to area due to the geographic differences around the country.
To be honest the weather need not affect a trip in December provided you are dressed appropriately-the exception being it isn't a time for a beach based holiday!
Tourist attractions all over the country are open and fully operating throughout the year including winter. No time is a bad time to visit Turkey but if you have a choice of December or waiting until late March or April onwards then so much the better weather wise. But there again .....maybe you want to see snow in which case December will offer you plenty of places you can visit to enjoy snow :)

Thanks Attnca & Sarikanarya..

Yet I haven't planned in details of which part to visit in particular of Turkey.

1: Will the weather be better if I visit in early november.?
2: Also, will the accommodation and other rates also shoot up in November than compared to December.
3: We are not accustomed to snow and too much cold weather, so its better to avoid such time.
4: What should be an average duration of stay in turkey in order to cover adequate spots as a turist.
5: Finally could you help me with an approximate daily costs involved for food, traveling and attractions as an moderate level tourist.

As others said, the weather throughout Turkey varies significantly at any time of the year.

1) In general rainy, cloudy, cold and windy weather becomes fairly common by November. Freezing weather will be uncommon except in the mountains.

2) The "tourist season" with the highest accommodation rates is certainly over by November. November through March will find the lowest prices in areas with seasonal rates.

3) You would need to be in the mountains of the east for much chance of snow in November but again the weather will be cold in most places .

4) You need at least two weeks for a basic taste of Turkey. During anytime you mention İstanbul alone will take a week for a fair taste. Days in İstanbul will be short and cold (rarely freezing) wet, cloudy, windy weather may cause problems. Even if the weather proves perfect you will have no problem enjoying yourself in the city!!!!!!

5) 5,000 rupees per day per person over two weeks. This does NOT include long-distance transportation--ONLY local.

Concerning hotel rate in November, I will be in Istanbul for four days on my way to South East Asia starting November 7th. Plenty of very big discount on Agoda for hotel. Difficult to decide wich one to choose...

Yes,there are some great deals to be found but before booking through a third party web site contact the hotels direct because often they will match those web site prices plus they may have other offers available too. These could be free airport pick up,discount for cash payment, free evening meal etc.etc.,.Booking through such as Agoda you wouldn't know about these :)

As to which hotel to pick firstly you need to narrow it down by deciding which district appeals to you most. Then narrow it further by looking only at your budget range and the select one form whats left.
If wild nightlife doesn't appeal to you and you want to be amongst the ancient history then somewhere around Sultanahmet,Gülhane or Sirkeci would suit you.For something a little more modern and vibrant with plenty of eating and drinking places then Galata,Taksim or Cihangir would be good for you.
Moving around from district to district is very easy on the tram and metro systems-and of course on your own feet too :)

I was in Istanbul last December and it was freezing. It also snowed heavily on New Years Eve and while that's something that doesn't normally happen in Istanbul every year it made for a difficult time getting around to see my friends. We also all got sick with colds and coughs.

Have you considered Antalya (stay in the Kaleici area) instead of Istanbul? I was there late December and Antalya had lovely sunshine during the days but cold wintery evenings which were still ok if you rugged up if you had to go out.
