Hi, I'm planning my 18-19 days trip to Turkey in March 2008. I really want to go to Cappadocia and Nemrut Dagi when I am in Turkey. After doing some research, it seems that March may not be the right month to go the eastern area although I only plan to to to Nemrut Dagi. Also I find the 3-days tour to Nemrut Dagi offered in Goreme won't start until early April, and if I take bus to Malatya, the organized minibus from Malatya to Nemrut Dagi is only offered starting early May.

Just wondering if someone on this forum will have some ideas on if there's any alternative, or I have to cancel my plan to visit Nemrut Dagi?

Thanks a lot in advance.

If this winter is a heavy snow year or even if it is normal you will not be able to get up Nemret Dagi till mid-April

You will only be able to get there if the winter is dry and/or warm

I wouldn't count on Nemrut being accessible, even this year (without that much snow) there was still snow at the beginning of April. The site was still accessible but it was pretty treacherous footing. Not sure if the tours would even be running. You could check by calling one a few weeks in advance and see how things look.

Thanks to Raki Man and cochradi, seems I may have to cancel the plan to Nemrut Dagi if I go in March. I hope Cappadocia is accessible at that time.

Thanks again
