I've been exploring Turkey with an open itinerary for the past few weeks, and I've made it as far as Samsun on the Black Sea. I'm going to keep traveling eastward, maybe spend some time in Trabzon and Rize, then to Kars. I've been keeping up with security things in the region, and I feel fine about continuing; everywhere I've gone people have been so amazingly thoughtful and kind. I am wondering if anyone else is making a similar journey and might want to meet up somewhere or travel part of the way together. I've been taking buses, but I'm open to trains, car rentals, horses, etc. I'm a very low maintenance traveler, with some camping gear and an airbnb account in case of bad weather.
