Hi All, I am due to transit through Turkey this weekend with my friend from USA. I am UK national. We won't leave the airport, we just have a stop over of a few hours. I have just found out the visa rules have recently changed and I can't find anything about transit requirements. Do you know if we need to do anything in advance or can we just get a stamp at the airport? Thanks

If you are NOT leaving the airport, why enquire about the visa. You don't need one to stay in the airport.

Thanks for the info. Is there nothing I have to do online, like registering before I go? I have to for USA so wondered if there is a system like this for Turkey, even if it is not an actual visa? Thanks

In response to #2

Nothing to do. The U.S.A. is one of the few countries with a transit visa requirement.

#2 the US does NOT do transit without visa, most other countries, including Turkey do.

USA and UK citizens are required a visa only if they would like to enter a country. Staying airside in IST airport requires nothing. There is always a possibility to get VOA if your plans changes.
