I'm planning to travel overland from Bulgaria to Turkey next week and am wondering if the border guards will open the gates for me...
My issue is this; I have a Nagorno Karabakh stamp in my passport. I know this prohibits me from entering Azerbaijian but i suddenly thought the Turks may also take exeption to it. Relations with Armenia are hardly rosy and Turkish / Azeri solidarity may mean i have a bit of a problem.
If anyone has any info that could help me out i'd be really grateful.
Oh yeah, and if i manage to get past the border, and anyone fancies joining forces for a bit o' backpacking, bus catching and kebab munching let me know... I'll be in Turkey from the 16th for at least a week and a half before heading north to Ukraine or west to Greece.
THANKS

I doubt it very much - most of them are looking for smugglers and illegal immigrants. You can fly direct from Yerevan to Istanbul, so they've been through these issues already.

#1 is right. The Turks don't care. They just want the visa fee.
Turkish solidarity with Azerbaijan is wearning thin. The embargo on Armenia costs a lot of money in Eastern Turkey because goods have to transit via Georgia. Furthermore, its not having any noticeable benefit in terms of NK coming under Azeri control. There's no payback to Turkey for taking all the pain. Lastly, the Azeri regime is a corrupt dynasty and as Turkey courts the EU they have more to lose by arbitrary border refusals than they could possibly gain from being nice to the Azeris.
