Hi, Does anyone know where they do the fireworks near the Bosphorous Bridge? And the best vantage point to see them. Are there ferries running that night (rather than a dinner cruise)? Also, are there any hotels or hostels that have views of the fireworks over the river? Thanks for any help, would liked to get booked as soon as possible :)
i was in Istanbul for the NYE 2015, we went to the Bosphorus Bridge to see the fireworks. We positioned ourselves in Ortakoy beside the Ortakoy Mosque. To our dismay, there were NO FIREWORKS at the Bosphorus Bridge AT ALL! Only at the Asian Side but it lasted for not more than 3 minutes. Too bad for those who spent a fortune on the dinner cruise. It was raining most of the day and the traffic was sooo congested that we had to walk in the freezing rain for more or less 4km from Ortakoy to Kabatas tram station after waiting for 12MN to come!

Thanks for all the info, I might have to rethink where I stay and what I do in Istanbul at New Year :)
