I understand there is a museum pass that allows access to museums throughout Turkey. In checking with the Muze website it is listed for a cost of 105TL but it looks like you have to have a Turkish address to order it from the site. Would anyone know if there is another way to aquire the pass? I read somewhere that you could purchase it at your first stop in Istanbul, however we are heading straight to Goreme. So I would like to know if the pass could be purchased at somewhere like the Open Air Museum in Goreme? I appreciate any information you might have or suggestions as to where to get further information.

There's a tourist office 5 minutes walk from the Archeological Museum in Sultan Ahmet. I bought my pass there. It does not include the Harem within Topkapi. It might be possible to get in Goreme Museum. I've never tried it that way.
There is a pass that allows access to museums in Turkey but that can be purchased by Turks only. The one that can be purchased by tourists is limited to certain sites in Istanbul only and valid for few days.
Unless rules have changed over the last year.
I always thought that it was only available to Turks but I heard that foreigners can buy it too. Someone bought one at Myra so I guess you can buy it in Cappadocia.
As far as I know foreigners can buy it if they are legal residents. May be the laws have changed but I really doubt it.
But if chris has baught it, than there is hope for us. Sounds interesting.
5 days not 15 :)
Newfie43,for other sites outside Istanbul you can buy tickets online and print them off at home to bring with you.
