So I have decided to spend a month on Turkey next year, am thinking May 2016 I am a solo 39 year old female traveller. Originally I was just going to visit Gallipoli and then visit the Western Front but after more research I decided to spend the whole month in Turkey,
What I would like to see is the following
Ephesus
Pamukkle
Fethyie-Kas area to see the coast line,
Then travel to Cappadocia and spend about 4 days seeing the area
Three day trip Mt Nemrut
Huttusa
Ankara
5 days in Istanbul
3 days in Gallipoli
Originally I was going to do a intrepid trip Istanbul-Selcuke-Pamukkle-Kayakoy-Kas-Konya-Goreme-Ankara-Istanbul, leave it at Ankara and double back and see Hattusa, Cappadocia, Mt Nemrut and then fly to Istanbul and do the rest. Just to make it easier and have the same people to talk to for the first bit of the trip. Before heading off on my own.
I am going to take 5-6 weeks leave from work and when you take out getting to Turkey from Australia I think I will have 4-5 weeks in turkey
From solo travellers point of view how easy is it to travel around, I have read that the buses are pretty good way to travel and I will probably take some flights, I am not a fan of night time or really really long bus trips.
Anyone got any more suggestions on what is worth seeing at that time of the year. Would hotels need to be pre booked before I leave Australia or can I play it a bit more by ear and only make bookings a few days in advance.
