Hi there,
would appreciate some help on that topic. which would you suggest for getting to adana from istanbul? will be travelling on to syria after that, so maybe gaziantep or antakya or something would be better (if going by bus, that is). time and money are both important, so can't quite decide. checked some companies for the bus ticket and it said that the 12 hour trip is 75 YTL!!! can it be true? probably also possible to find something cheaper? any info on the prices? the train is supposed to be 35YTL for 18 hours. any recent experiences would be more than welcome!
thanks a lot!
M.

sorry, the post seems really vague and unclear. my questions:
1. are the prices accurate? any info on recent prices is appreciated!
2. which would be the ebst destination when wanting to cross the syrian border?
3. is there any way of getting to aleppo/damascus after 6 pm from adana (as the train gets there at 6)?
+any other info you see relevant!
thanks agaian,
M.
Check this company.
Metro Turizm
Metro has three buses every night. They are all overnight buses. Leaves Istanbul at 19:00, 21:00, 22:30 and arrives to Adana 07:00, 10:00, 11:00 respectively. So you arrive to Adana before noon. And the price is 50,5 YTL.
That means you have to shop around. This is just one another bus company. Go to bus company offices just across the street of German Consulate in Taksim. And do some asking. I am sure that you may find even cheaper options.

There are also two trains going to Adana. Much more comfortable and civilized than a bus. And you can also go to toilet when you wish to.
Train No. 11126 dep. Istanbul 18:10, arr. Adana 13:24 (dep. every day) 1st class 35 YTL
Train No. dep. 8:55, arr. 05:02 (dep. Tue, Thu, Sun) 1st class 33 YTL
Both can be easily booked at magnificent Haydarpasha Train Station in Istanbul.
One question to the OP:
If you are going to Aleppo, why don't you take the train all the way there?
And you can book a sleeper. No need to change bus, train etc.
