sick and tired of the rain in southern norway we decided this morning to go for the next available package-tour which will bring us to Icmeler on friday. googling icmeler pictures there is one thing that comes to our mind. are there any beaches around Icmeler that are NOT as crowded and full of tourists like the beach we find on google?? anybody know about prices and customs for cabs as we will be dependend on them because of our two small children?
have a goooooood summer all of you travelling people out there :-)

Ten years ago Icmeler was undiscovered. Now, it's just like all other tourist traps, so the answer to your first question is No. There is sandy beach all the way from Icmeler back to Marmaris and tuns of Brits and Germans frying themselves and eating fish and chips. You can travel from Icmeler to the Marmaris harbor by taking a dolmus (shared taxi; wave it down to board.)

Try flying into Dalaman and finding either a package or DIY in Dalyan.

There is no beach in the town; you have to take a bus or boat to the beach. But it is a bit more off the beaten track that Mamaris etc.

Try to visit "Cleopatra Beach" which is like half an hour from Marmaris.
You have to take a minibus from the center and then sail with small boats to the island. it will be uncrowded between 3-5 p.m.

Akyaka's ok too. The beach maybe isn't great - very windy I think but there is another one a little way out that's much better. I stayed a bit outside in a hotel on it's own little cove and it was lovely (Coban Tur I think).
