Hi, I will be euro-tripping in August and I need to get from Dubrovnik to Istanbul. How can I get about? Airplane fares are already quite pricey so I am looking for bus/train alternatives, with practical stopovers and connecting cities.

Thanks in advance!

How long have you got for the trip?

There are tons of bus lines. Tell us which places (towns, beaches, fortresses, gorges, monastieries, archeologcal sites, etc.) you plan to visit and we can then make some proposals.

It's pretty simple, get to Zagreb and there is a regular service to Sofia, then take a bus to Istanbul.

I'm flexible on the dates, will be leaving Dubrovnik on the 21st of august, not very fussy on how long it takes to get to Istanbul!

Hi! I actually have not planned anything, nor have I started checking the places I want to visit both in Dubrovnik or in Istanbul (any tips are the most welcome). I am just trying to plan out the travel routes in advance for budgetary reasons.

Well, the route will depend a lot on how long you want or have available for the trip.

Last summer I spent about 6 weeks going between those 2 cities, for example...
