I have reserved a Dogu Express train ticket on the TCDD website for Kars-Kayseri on 22/4. It should be converted to printed ticket by 18/4 and according to Seat 61 it can be done at the train station. I am currently in Amasya and will depart for Trabzon tomorrow night. I thought there is a train station in Amasya and this morning have went to the place mark as TCDD in google maps. I could not found it although there is a train track in maps and also heard sound of incoming train around half an hour ago. Besides hardly anyone speak english (i am not complaining here). I do have a backup plan which is Kars-Erzurum-Nevsehir by bus. But I love train travel and would really like to make it. Any info or suggestion are much appreciated and thank you in advance.
Hmm,hard to explain if you don't know the town but the train station is right in the centre in Ihsaniye Mahallesi.(that means neighbourhood) near Türkeli Sokak.Write "Amasya tren garı direksiyonlar lütfen" on a piece of paper and once you are walking in the general direction stop someone show them the paper and they will point you onwards.If you can find Ihsaniye Mosque(cami)then you sre 2 minutes away.
I took a look on the internet for you and, as you may have discovered, the information there is conflicting.
There is a road called 'ISTYASYONU CADDESDI' (= station street) and one map shows it on that street. Another site says it's 2 km out of town, but that there is a dolmus and buses out to it from the town centre.
You may be able to find a train agency in the town centre. It will be marked with the logo TCDD and a pair of 'wings' either side. They can probably do it for you.
Otherwise, ask some one for 'dolmush, Istasyonu.' Good luck.
Thanks sari for your fast reply. Know what.... i just realized my mistake....stupid me went to the opposite direction this morning.... hahaha. I consulted the LP book just few minutes ago and realized my mistake. That is why i saw dolmus marked istasyonu during my walkabout in the town this morning but it did not occured to me. Only after i had a rest back at the pansiyon only I realized. I am heading there now in a few minutes.

guys....arrived safely here and exactly as the map pointed by davidm1. However i was late for 10 minutes.....sob sob. the counter closed at 5pm. Hmmmm....have to come again tomorrow morning.
