Hi everyone

Does anyone have an advice on what not to miss in the evening life of Istanbul? I do not mean casinos, discos or night clubs. I mean local music places, concerts, this sort of things. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Marina

In summer time, I wouldn't miss a concert in Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theatre in Istanbul.
Could be Turkish Diva Sezen Aksu or Norah Jones.
Atmosphere there is incredible.

If you want to see a whirling dervisher on the cheap try the Café Mescale - it's open air restaurant opposite Arasta Bazaar, behind the blue mosque. Every evening at 8.00pm is a dervish performance which you can see for the cost of a meal [or even just a cay].
