The Turkish Travel Bureau publishes a map showing all approved camping facilities in Turkey. I suppose it obvious you didn't get one of those maps! There are two campsites in Kusadasi, fairly modern, unless they have been torn down. Great campsite in Oren, just across the highway from Burhaniye. The campground was very clean; motel rooms available; sandy beach right by the campgrounds. There is a sandy beach at Cesme 50 km from Izmir but not sure of accommodations. In the off season, small hotel owners will allow you to tent camp on the grounds, for a fee. We camped many times at the MBP Mocamp (now, Klub Kervan) near Kizkalesi (between Mersin and Silifke. The motel cum campground at Klub Kervan is one of our favorite camping sites. The Turks are friendly and if you approach them nicely, you might get an invite to camp in their field, etc. However, if you have an offer to stay overnight, you should surely offer a fair toll.

For Pamukkale, if you are going there.......
The Dort Mevsin Hotel (4 seasons) allows camping or coming in along the main road into Pamukkale on the left hand side is EGE Camping. Dont know of the prices though.
If you're heading in the Olympus/Cirali direction, you can camp in the grounds of Sundance nature village just by a small town called Tekirova. They have lovely gardens and their own beach and are very family friendly. Try googling it for costs. It's very relaxed there and they have horses, ducks, any number of cats and dogs - kids should love it.
