Dear Travelers,

I will be spending around a month in Turkey in June/July.

Which town/area has the best/most diverse food to offer (without counting Istanbul, of course)?

I heard that Gaziantep is a great city for food but I'm not sure I want to go there considering the (minor) security threat.

Thank you guys :)

Turkey's cuisine culture covers many millenia and many cultures and almost everything can be found all over the country these days as people from one area have migrated to another taking with them their 'home'food.
Around Cappadocia or Konya you can find all central Anatolia dishes,anywhere along the Aegean coast ,Izmir etc.,you can find food from other regions plus the Aegean's own specialities,similarly along the south coast and in particular larger cities like Antalya.
But yes,the biggest range of choices are defo in Istanbul.

Since it is extremely popular with both Turkish and non-Turkish guests, Cappadocia has an excellent variety of Turkish foods from different regions. There are also some good local specialties.

Bursa, Gaziantep and Adana. Gaziantep has no security threat btw.

Hi Clicli 29 ;

I am writing you from Cappadocia , if you have time to visit Cappadocia you should try Pottery Kebap ( someone calls CLAY kebap ) Which has great oriental taste :) if you go to Aegean side you should try all vegetables which included olive oil highly recommended foods :)

The food is great anywhere in Turkey. :) Do have a think about what else you're going to do in Gaziantep. You can see all the sights in a single day.
