My wife and I will be in Cirali, Turkey in early September. I'm wondering about the availability of ATMs in Cirali--do they have them, are they reliable? Haven't run into any major problems in any of the dozen or so countries I've visited in the last few years, but thought I should check. Thanks!
dg

I was last there two weeks ago. I don't recall seeing any. Caretta will have the definitive answer.

Yes thanks cochradi....I do know the answer.....
Please be advised when travelling to the Cirali area that there are NO banks, ATM'S, Post office etc....you can however exchange foreign currancy of Euros, GBP or Dollars at most local shops or at the many small hotels and pensions located in Cirali.
The closest ATM machine is15 kms located in Tekirova.
The nearest government banks or change offices to Cirali are located in the larger towns of Kumluca or Kemer and they are located about 30 minutes away. These towns can be accessed by private car or by the local bus system on either Fridays to Kumluca ( costs 10 Euros per person - round trip ) or to Kemer on Mondays ( costs 10 Euros per person - round trip ). The buses leave at about 9:30 am and get back around 2:30 pm.
On Fridays it is nice to visit the local produce market in Kumluca... a special treat away from the more touristic bazzars located in the bigger resort areas.
As Cirali is very small and it does not have a local bazaar day but there are plenty of little shops and markets to buy the necessary items you may need.
It is recommended that you stop off at a ATM or bank before you come to Cirali. Also if you are driving by a rental car make sure you have enough gas and again the closest gas station to Cirali is over 12 - 15 kms away.
Be prepared to have gas in your car and cash in your pockets as you will not find ANY places or these types of services in the rural village of Cirali.
Thanks, Caretta. We will be coming thru Antalya. Am I correct in assuming that I could take care of it there [that there are ATMs in Antalya]?--dg

Yes plenty of ATM's in Antalya...if you are arriving at the airport there are bank machines there as well.
Four 24 hour cash machines providing banking services by three different banks are located at suitable points throughout the terminal. There is a change office in the Arrivals hall and a branch in the Departures hall.
Antalya airport informatiýon - services
You mention the change office @ the airport--probably won't need that, as I assume the ATMs dispense the local currency, correct? Also, in terms of shops and places to eat within Cirali, are these cash only or do they take credit cards or debit cards?--dg

Yes, ATMs dispense Turkish lira. Some will even dispense Euro and USD. Most places in Cirali are cash only - though I saw a few POS machines, I wouldn't count on it. You will see what I mean when you get there. This is not a developed place we are talking about, but a village that happens to get a lot of visitors in the summer. Places like the car rentals and tour agencies no doubt take plastic, as well as some of the bigger establishments. Count on 70-80 lira for a double in a pension with ensuite, meals on the beach are probably around 30-40 a couple with alcohol. Breakfast is likely included in your pension, most will do a lunch or dinner for you as well.

Oh, and Caretta: If you happen to hear of anyone finding a wedding band in the last two weeks, I lost mine while swimming on July 16. Thanks!
