Hello all! I am planning my honeymoon for end of June/beginning of July 2008. I want to take two weeks total, and possibly divide it equally between Turkey and Greece. I've been to Greece before (Athens, Paros, Santorini, and Crete) and would like to revisit Athens and possibly Santorini with my hubby. However, I really want to see some new things, and I'd love to see a bit of Turkey. Is 3 days in Istanbul enough? I'd mostly like to see the cool sites and then get out of the city. The man and I both love to hike, but I figure it will be too hot for us at the height of summer. If you had only 1 week in Turkey, what would you see and do? We would mostly like to see archaeological and religious sites and generally enjoy the ambience, friendly people, good food/drink, and relax. I'm thinking one of the towns on the sea would be great because then we could hop on a ferry to Rhodes after. Anyone have any quaint towns, beautiful scenery, and/or great hotels they'd like to recommend? Thanks for your help!
Proposal A
Fly from Istanbul to Antalya with a low cost carrier (www.pegasusairlines.com, sunair, öger, etc.). Enjoy the ancient theatres of Perge and Aspendos as well as the sandy beach of Side. Then go west along the Llykian coast, visit at least Myra, Kas and Fethyie (there are many other archeological places and nice beaches too) and leave Turkey at Marmaris with the Rhodos ferry.
Proposal B
Cross the Marmara Sea by boat. Visit Bursa, then go to Pergamon (ancient theatre), change only bus in Izmir, visit Ephesus and the nearby beach of Pamucak, have a look at Didimea and Priene and the beach of Altinkum, then go to Bodrum (the ancient Halikarnassos) and take a ferry to the greek island of Kos.

Wow, both sound amazing- thanks for your advice! However, this sounds like a lot to do in a week (minus several days for Istanbul). Are 3 days enough for Istanbul? What would you recommend for the remaining 4 days?

go to istanbul for 3 days. fly to dalaman. go to the butterfly valley for 4 days - alternatively, kabak.
