I loved Eskisahir. It has a nice pediatricians section and a good transportation system. You can use the tram to get from the bus station to the downtown area or to the Ottoman section. The old Ottoman section and the river front of the city are a nice place to walk around. The is a nice park for children. Very few forign tourists visit the city. Nothing much but good place to relax. There are plenty of reasonably priced hotels in town around 30€. I lost my keys (why would any one take his domestic keys abroad?) in a restaurant and came back next day and (to my delight) It was given to me by the waiters.

I liked soo much. I am still kicking my self for NOT writing a review while I was in city. I lost all my notes when I had cut the entire trip short.

Thanks for your advice guys.

I have another question. I've done a bit of research but couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere. Does anybody know whether I'll be able to obtain a 6 month Indian tourist visa in Istanbul, from the Indian Consulate, considering I'm a British national? I know foreign citizens can't obtain visas in certain countries.

I wasn't sure whether to post here or on the India forum, but thought I'd try here as I already had a thread.

Thanks! :)

Having looked through the Indian governments website it gives no indication of which nationalities can apply outside their home country. But I would think British passport holders would be able to.However I notice that whilst the processing time is given as 3 working days it doesn't give any indication of how long the waiting list is for appointments. So it is probably best for you to contact the Indian Embassy to get a definitive answer. What may be given to one may not be given to another so another's experience may not be your own.

Thanks sarikanarya. Yeah I think I'll just give them a phone call nearer the time.

I've booked my flight to Istanbul for August 1st, 2016. I've decided (if I can find cheap domestic flights) to fly straight from Istanbul to Denizli and work my way east by bus/train visiting towns mentioned in previous posts, including Egirdir and Konya, all the way to Rize, to take a flight from Trabzon back to Istanbul.

Now it's just a matter of waiting for time to pass :D
