Ways travel from Prague to Munich ?Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Czech Republic
Hi All, I’m looking for a ways travel from Prague to Munich, I’d like to seek your advice. Thank in advance.
Hi, there are several direct trains during the day between Prague and Munchen. They take between 5 and 6 hours. For timetable and prices, check www.diebahn.de. Matthijs | 1
For bus, you can go to Eurolines. Probably cheaper, but less comfortable. Or look at Czech Transport. Akward times though. | 2
4 hrs 40 min by bus or 6 hrs by train. http://www.bahn.de/i/view/DEU/en/index.shtml shows timetables and fares for both. There are no overnight trains. | 3
Thank you all for the replies and information. | 4
Hi all, I’ve checked http://www.bahn.de/i/view/DEU/en/index.shtml for the ways Prague to Munich, and it came up with several options, I then go for the bus, and I find it has Saving fare for 29 euro, the info show --- One more thing, will it usually a discount offer if book in advance ? Thank ! | 5
“You will receive the conditions of the offer in the next step.)” , is it not a direct bus ? Matthijs | 6
Rather late to the game, but I'm taking this bus in a few days and have a question about the station. I've been in Munich for the past month or so and have gone through the station a few times, but on trains. Never seen where buses leave and since I have an uncanny ability to get lost inside train stations, I'm trying to figure out beforehand where I need to go. Does anyone know if the buses leave outside on Arnulfstrasse, or...? My friends who live here permanently don't seem to know either. | 7
If you don't like cramped buses on ugly motorways (I don't - I can read on a train as well as enjoying the scenery, but I get sick on a bus) you can buy train tickets from Munich to Prague by civilised direct train at www.cd.cz/eshop from just 19 euros. There are four direct trains a day, and you simply print your own ticket. This is actually cheaper than the downmarket long-distance bus, and only takes a little longer. | 8
Is there a way on the www.cd.cz/eshop site to change it to English? Thanks in advance! | 9
Of course - just click the English button, which on this particular site is 'EN' at the top. | 10
I am on the site www.cd.cz/eshop it appears that it is less expensive to purchase train tickets there from Prague to Munich train 356 from there than on czech-transport.com Does it matter which site I purchase them on? Thank you for your help in advance! | 11
CD.Cz is the actual operator, Czech Transport is an agency reselling CD's tickets with a fee or markup. Always book direct! | 12
I thought that might be the case, but it is great to know for sure. Thanks! | 13
