Validity of UA visa issued in AU ?

Am I correct in thinking that a tourist visa for Ukraine is valid for six months from the date of issue, and I can enter at any time during this period of validity? (As distinct from the visas for other former soviet countries that have specific start and end dates.) What should I do to maximise my success in applying for a multi-entry visa here at home in Australia? As an alternative, could I expect to pick up a multi-entry visa in Budapest?

As far as I know, any visa is valid for the time written on the visa itself, check it :)
