| christianrenefriborg04:36 UTC13 Nov 2012 | Greetings everyone. I'm planning to take my mum and dad on a surprise trip to Poland as my gift for them on their wedding anniversary. Can you give me suggestions of places where we can go? We will be staying in Poland for a week.

You really need to be more specific. Suggestions of places to go.... We can all suggest, but will you like the ideas? Your likes and dislikes, mode(s) of transport, budget etc., would all assist in us suggesting locations. Back to you.

I'm affraid that you need to help forum members help you as your question is far too wide right now. Advice depends on travel logistics (where and how you will enter Poland and where/how you will exit?) their (and your) interests (looking for a city break or country side? Mostly site-seen or enjoy a spa hotel? Into local parks and museums or shopping etc) , When? (advice varies depending on season, some places might be completely different on say January to August) their (and your) traveling style (only one place or divide stay in two - three areas? Locate in one city/town/area and explore in depth or maybe use city as a base for day trips? self catering apartments or spa hotels? Hiring a car or using public transport ?) and other specifics (Budget for starters and then are your parents fit or have some limitations on stamina or health issues or special requirements/needs? Are they tolerant to very low temperatures or to humidity or even to high temperatures/sun exposure? Do they keep talking of visiting Poland to do or see something specific or this will be a completely new idea for them? If they would never imagine visiting Poland and they are unfamiliar with it, what they like to do/see on their trips? What would think it's suitable for them and you?) The more info you share, the more suitable advice you'll get!

| macedonian09:17 UTC13 Nov 2012 | I would suggest Krakow. if you stay within Stare Miasto ( Center) with plenty roms to rent all is walking distance & cheap, walk down to the Wawel Castle, from Grodzka st from there across the bridge and you are in the Kazimirz the Jewish Ghetto.. Krakow is walkable City , lots to see and do. Plenty Good and cheap Restaurants, we loved the Kommunist style Bar Mlechny,( very cheap), Grodzka 43, Kraków 48(12) 422 08 74 http://www.bar-mleczny.com.pl/ one of the fav retaurant was Babcia Malina ul. Slawkowska 17, Krakow, (Stare Miasto) 48 (12) 422 76 01 We stayed for a week and done side trips to Wieliczcka Salt mines UNESCO WHS http://www.wieliczka-saltmine.com/ Visited Auschwitz http://en.auschwitz.org/m/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=85 And few stately Holmes not far away from Krakow. You can easily spend week just around the City. Since our First visit in 2010 we have been back few Times and we find the City relaxend, romantic and affordable for visit but having great time...

However, do keep us posted and let's see how we can help. :)
