split-brac-vis-hvar-dubrovnik by ferry.

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Croatia

We're going to croatia on 01 July, arriving in Split. We want to spend one night in Split, 3 nights on Brac (bol), 3 nights on Vis and 3 nights on Hvar and then on to Dubrovnik by the 11th.
i've been struggling to make sense of the jadrolinija timetables....and want to know the best route with Split at the start and Dubrovnik at the end.
Basically I'd like to know whether it's easiest to go to Brac or Vis first. Geographically it seems to make sense to go to Brac or Vis first then Hvar....

any advice gratefully received (except if you're just going to tell me to search the branches for this answer...i've already done that).

thanks guys!

First Vis, as the only other place to access Vis other than Split is sometimes Hvar--and I doubt that would work out for you if you plan on departing from Hvar (Stari Grad) to Dubrovnik via ferry.

Then, after returning to Split, you can get to Bol by taking a direct catamaran OR taking a ferry to Supetar, then a bus to Bol.

Instead of backtracking to Split to get to Hvar, you can hopefully catch that catamaran from Bol to Jelsa on Hvar, then make your way to Hvar Grad on bus. Otherwise, you'll have to return to Split and catamaran to Hvar or ferry to Split from Stari Grad.

So play around with the search by date function on Jadrolinija a little more and you should be able to get it worked out. Vis is worth the effort.

This may be a possibility as well:
Split-Bol-Jelsa/Hvar-Vis-Split (then bus to Dubrovnik instead of ferry). I know at certain times there is a catamaran between Hvar and Vis, but I have never been able to figure out when and with what frequency.
