Are you keen to hire a car in this area maybe from Van/Diyarbakir? I`ll be arrivýng next week before I head to Iran.

Sounds rather on the expensive side.

Includes insurance it's not cheap, but unlimted km which makes a dýfference and between two or three it's not bad. The car was a diesel and they said a 1000km per tank. That price was from Erzurum I am now in Artvin ýt's very wet leaving for kars tomorrow hoping it will clear by then!

It'a also important to know what the excess is for the insurance (that's what we call it in Australia). In other words if you do have an accident and need to claim on the policy how much do you have to pay first. Quite often the excess is quite high and the car hire company will then offer a higher daily rate for a lower level of excess.

Many overseas travel insurance policies MAY cover this excess (they do in Australia) - but check. Some of the premiun credit cards also cover excess - so check.

Thanks #5 have that covered. All I need is someone to share the cost of the car!! May have to head into Iran earlier than expected.
