Skiing in PolandCountry forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Poland
Was wondering what the skiing is like in Poland. We are a beginner snowboarder and intermediate skier/snowboarder who would like to have a few days on the snow either as a trip for a couple of days or combined with a few extra days not skiing. Can anyone suggest some good ski areas which we can get to by public transport (we'd be flying in from the UK). Edited by: camelz
Hi Camelz, Also you need to watch the weather forcasts, we used to have lots of snow but not any more. | 1
If you can afford on winter holidays in Austria/Italy/France - do it,

Zakopane and Muszyna are among the most accessible by train from Krakow and Warsaw, both have ski slopes with lifts, hotels, etc. Don't expect the Alps or anything.. | 3
Pilsko is a nice skiing destination in Poland. You can get there by bus (I hope I'm not wrong). Anyway, I would also recommend choosing another skiing destination. For example, Austria. It is way better than Poland from this point of view. | 4
I recommend stay in Krakow and go to skiing for one day. If you beginners good ski areas is Siepraw, Białka Tatrzańska, Bukowina Tatrzańska. If you need more advanced level Szczyrk and Zakopane with Kasprowy is good idea. G. Edited by: a moderator 16-Feb-2009 | 5
