Romantic Croatia - on a budget!

Country forums / Eastern Europe & the Caucasus / Croatia

Hello! My finace and I are planning our honeymoon to Croatia in September. We've never been before but have heard amazing reviews! We're looking for some nice accommodation in the south, Dubrovnik, Korcula Island or any other suggestions, but we don't have a very big budget. We're used to roughing it when travelling but since this is our honeymoon we'd like somthing a bit nicer than normal... Any suggestions, tips and hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

what is your exact budget for lodging?
50 euros for a fantastic apartment is about what I have spent.
Dubrovnik will be more expensive, so maybe allot less time there and more in Korcula.
How long will you be there? Some places charge more when you spend less than 3 days.
There are 1000s online, just start clicking till you see what you like.
For something more remote, check out Lastovo, where I saw few other people and apartments were considerably cheaper.

hi

i just got back from my honeymoon in croatia.
we stayed in apartments (not hotels) and they were all pretty nice.

in dubrovnik we stayed in the apartment pavisa (http://www.dubrovnik-private-accommodation.net/apartments_pavisa.htm)

in korcula we stayed in the royal apartments. this was a great place. we had a view onto the harbor and the old town walls (this is a view from the window - http://flickr.com/photos/hardcoreharry/2675772942/in/set-72157606211320065/)
