My friend and I are again enjoying Istanbul and have a few free days. I'd be happy to meet, talk with, write to, etc. fellow travelers currently in Istanbul. We're fairly experienced with the city and can offer suggestions and are always open to exploration. Send me a private mail (use the "messages" tab) and I'll reply as soon as possible. Or you can call (from Turkey only) zero five three four 204 four two 86
I was told by Turkish friend that if you receive an international call on your Turkish mobile you will be charged per minute. Is it true? | 1
You DEFINITELY pay (a LOT) if you are outside of Turkey and you answer a call from anywhere. Otherwise it seems to depend on what country the call is coming from and what type of phone is being used. When in Turkey I'm not charged when taking a call from my house sitter or business in the USA (land lines) but I am charged if I answer calls from the UK made on a mobile phone. Also calls from the USA to a mobile phone in Turkey cost significantly more than calling a land line in Turkey. So when in Turkey I usually have workers from the USA call me at our hotel instead of on our mobile phone. p.s. That's why I asked to be called only from Turkey in the first message. Otherwise I won't answer the phone unless I know the caller. | 2
