| nikos_k19:16 UTC16 Apr 2009 | Hi there! I'm trying to get from Bucharest to Lubliana overland and have started from scratch. LP guidebook for east europe mentions practically nothing. Do you know if it is an easy ride, or about any complications? It would be great if it is possible by an overnight train, or with a stop in a nice place en route. Many thanks for anything relative Nikos

if speed is of the essence, a rather "unorthodox" approach would be to fly on a low-cost airline from bucharest to an airport in the north-east of italy (say verona) and then continue to ljubljana by train

| nikos_k14:48 UTC19 Apr 2009 | thanks for the info guys, i'll work on that. well, I find here and there some prices for train tickets between cities of east europe and they seem a lot more expensive to what I expected about this part of the continent! I wonder how the locals can make it. Thanks, I'll keep on searching - anybody with spesific info please do send more suggestions! cheers Nikos

| condolisa19:19 UTC24 Apr 2009 | If you are interested in flying low cost, try from to Buchurest to Venezia or Udine (if there is low cost airport there). Also, I recommend to travel by bus, it should be cheaper and faster, check it out. I am not sure if there is direct bus from BUC to Ljubljana, but with break in Belgrade it is very easy. Also, it will allow you to see the most interesting town in the region, Belgrade of course. Just bury in mind, for Belgrade you need at least few days.

| condolisa09:50 UTC25 Apr 2009 | Still cant find anything :( But train BUC - Belgrade, and then taking train or bus to Ljubljana is possible, with a break in Belgrade. Bus is faster, train more comfrtable, so the choice is only to nikos
